Finnish Kota: Office & Overnight Stay in Nature
In the Zeeland countryside, we recently had the pleasure of completing a truly special project: a multifunctional Finnish Kota that blurs the boundaries between work, rest and nature. With a main space of 16.5 m² and a generous 12 m² extension, this is far more than a garden house. It is a fully fledged office and an inviting guest retreat.
Features of this Kota:
- Linked Finnish Kotas of 16.5 m²
- 12 m² extension
- Roofing: Anthracite
- Insulated floor and roof
The customer’s wishes
The customer’s request was clear: the new space had to blend seamlessly into its green, wooded surroundings. By choosing high-quality pine wood and the characteristic shape of the kota, the structure feels like a natural extension of the garden. Whether you are sitting at your desk or enjoying an overnight stay, the view of the greenery creates an immediate sense of calm.
Craftsmanship in every square metre
Achieving this final result required careful planning. Access to the garden was limited, which made the logistics particularly challenging. After a thorough site visit, a smart plan of action was drawn up. Using a compact crane, as shown in the photos, we were able to manoeuvre the large wall sections and roof segments precisely into place without damaging the existing garden. The result? A perfectly positioned kota in a location that initially seemed inaccessible.
A solid foundation: preparation and installation
When realising a project such as this Finnish kota, proper preparation is half the work. It all starts with a stable, level foundation. For this project in Zeeland, a screw foundation was chosen, visible in the first photo. This is a sustainable and efficient solution that minimises disruption to the ground while immediately providing a strong base for the wooden structure.
When it comes to installation, Ticra Outdoor offers complete peace of mind. Although our kotas can be supplied as self-build kits for skilled DIY enthusiasts, many customers, including this one in Zeeland, choose installation by our own experienced team. We not only take care of assembling the walls and roof, but also advise during the preparation phase on electricity connections and any other facilities required. This ensures that your outdoor living space is not only beautiful, but also technically finished to a high standard.
A place to work, relax and enjoy the tranquillity of Zeeland. A dream project we look back on with great pride!
