The Foundation

Fully paved surface
The foundation for a Finnish Kota must be fully paved before installation. It is very important that the surface is 100% level. We recommend a paved surface made of paving slabs, concrete, or brick pavers. Decide in advance where you want to place the Finnish Kota in your garden and make sure this area is completely clear. Don’t have a level surface yet? Then it is advisable to prepare this first, so you can start assembling the Finnish Kota immediately once it is delivered. Paving using support posts
Another option is to install paving only at the locations of the support posts. This was done for this Finnish Kota in Zeeland. However, we do recommend filling the remaining area underneath the Finnish Kota with gravel or wood chips to prevent plants from growing against the wood.
